Written by Carolyn R. Riebeth, “From J. H. Sharp’s sketch box-These “boards” were given to us by Mr. Sharp after Ed {Dana} had sold his Crow Agency property for him. About 1930, or shortly there after. | Carolyn R. Riebeth | Also | Since these boards were left at Crow Agency, they were almost certainly painted in Montana or Wyoming. The Sharps sometimes visited the Ed Dana ranch in Wyoming. Mrs. Dana (Fra) had been Sharp’s student at Cincinnati. But this view is typical along the Little {Big} Horn on the Crow Reservation.”
