A copy of a December 3, 1995 letter of authenticity by Ginger Renner will accompany the lot.

The letter states, “I have personally examined a bronze from your collection entitled THE BUFFALO HUNT (also known as Buffalo Runner) and described as follows:

“A mounted Indian racing along side a bull and cow buffalo and in the act of driving an arrow in the side of the cow. Size 10 inches in height with a base of 18 x 12¼ inches. It is signed under the bull’s left hoof C.M. Russell [skull] 1905 and with the copyright symbol below. It is stamped on the edge of the base on the back side Calif.Art.Bronze.Fnry.L.A.

“In my opinion this is one of the casts authorized and cast by Nancy Russell.”
