The artist writes, “This band of Blackfeet warriors is heading north along the Rocky Mountain front with the spoils of their successful raid in a southern Montana Crow camp. A few days of travel will find them back in their tribal hunting grounds in the vicinity of what is now Glacier Park in northern Montana. Many stories of skill and bravery will be recounted to the other tribal members who are anxiously awaiting their return.”
